Economy Remap vs Performance Remap: What's Right for Your Car?

Spending more on fuel than you'd like, or wishing your car felt more responsive? An Economy Remap puts fuel efficiency first, while a Performance Remap prioritises stronger performance. The right choice starts with what you want from your everyday driving, not whichever option sounds more impressive. If running costs matter most, ask about economy tuning. If you want a more responsive drive, discuss performance tuning. Fix My AdBlue checks suitability before quoting. Send your registration, postcode and a photo of any warning by WhatsApp, call us, or use the quote form. No warning showing? Simply tell us what you'd like to improve.
What are you hoping to change?
Start with your main frustration. Are you trying to make regular journeys more economical, or does your car or van feel less responsive than you'd like? Tell us how you use it, including commuting, longer trips or carrying work equipment.
Also tell us whether the behaviour has changed recently. An existing warning, sudden loss of performance or starting problem needs to be discussed before choosing a remap. Our software services do not fix unrelated engine faults.
Economy and performance remaps explained
A remap changes settings in the engine computer's software. It is not a replacement engine part. Economy and performance describe the aim of those changes, rather than two completely different types of installation.
An Economy Remap aims to improve fuel efficiency, but it is not a promise of lower fuel bills. Results vary between vehicles and patterns of use. We do not guarantee fuel savings, so choose it for its focus rather than an assumed financial return.
A Performance Remap focuses on engine response and stronger performance. That can appeal to drivers who want their car or van to feel more responsive during everyday acceleration. It is not automatically the better choice just because performance is the headline benefit.
Where do Stage 1 and Stage 2 fit?
Economy or performance describes your priority. Stage 1 and Stage 2 describe the tuning approach and supporting vehicle setup. A Stage 1 Remap can focus on economy or performance; the name alone does not tell you which goal it serves.
Stage 2 needs suitable supporting modifications. Fix My AdBlue provides the software work only and does not fit those modifications. Tell us about any existing changes when enquiring. We check suitability and quote each additional software service separately.
How Fix My AdBlue can help
Not every car or van is suitable. We start with your registration, discuss your priorities and check suitability before quoting. Where available, our mobile technicians come to your home, workplace or another safe place across England, subject to availability.
Our main service is AdBlue Delete, also called AdBlue Removal. These are two names for the same software service: we change the engine computer's software so it no longer runs or monitors the AdBlue system, clearing related warnings and the countdown. We do not replace, fit, repair or clean parts, and this work does not fix unrelated engine faults.
Economy Remap, Performance Remap, Stage 1 Remap and Stage 2 Remap are additional services, quoted separately and never free with AdBlue work. DPF Delete and EGR Delete are also separately quoted, software-only services. You do not need to request every service to ask about one.
Why choose Fix My AdBlue?
Operating Since 2012, Fix My AdBlue combines Experienced Technicians with Nationwide Mobile Service Across England. Read our genuine Google reviews when deciding who to book.
Our No Fix, No Fee commitment is straightforward: "If we cannot complete the job, there is no charge."
Our Lifetime Software Warranty applies to the software work on that vehicle. If the covered work develops a problem, we correct it again. Later software updates or recalls void the warranty. Callout charges, including emergency callout charges, are not covered.
How to book in three steps
You do not need to know which remap to request before contacting us. Explain your priorities and we will start with the suitability check.
- 1. Send your registration, postcode and warning details, including a photo if one is showing, by WhatsApp. Alternatively, call or use the quote form.
- 2. We check suitability and provide a quote for the software service you want.
- 3. Arrange a mobile appointment at your home, work or another safe location, subject to availability.
Customer FAQs
Which remap should I ask about for a work van?
Tell us whether fuel efficiency or performance matters more, alongside your usual journeys and loads. We check your registration before confirming suitable options.
Is remapping included with AdBlue Removal?
No. Economy and performance tuning are optional additional software services with separate quotes. They are never included free with AdBlue work.
Can I book if an AdBlue countdown is showing?
Yes. Send a clear photo of the countdown with your registration and postcode. Make the warning your first enquiry so we can check suitability for AdBlue software work.
When are mobile appointments available?
Standard hours are Monday to Sunday, 8 AM to 8 PM. Mobile appointments depend on availability. We also offer 24/7 emergency callouts, subject to location and availability, with an additional emergency callout charge confirmed before dispatch.
Do you fit parts for a Stage 2 Remap?
No. Stage 2 requires suitable supporting modifications, but our service is software only. Share details of the vehicle's existing modifications so we can assess suitability.
Need Help With an AdBlue Warning?
Send your registration, postcode and a photo of the warning. We check suitability and confirm the price before anything is booked.
